I live on a remote Scottish island with very few housing to buy so I decided that I would build a house for my family on my croft land especially since the Scottish government was offering grant to do this in remote rural areas as long as the croft land was worked.

I work at sea so I am only at home half of the year but this became extended while the pandemic. Stay at home for around 7-8 months.

I live with my wife and twin sons.

What’s your favourite part of your home?

The downstairs bedroom since I have converted this into an office

What did your home unexpectedly provide you with during the covid-19 pandemic?

It provided us with somewhere we were happy to stay and actually did not need to go anywhere else, with internet we were safe and secure in our home and did not really need for anything else.
