Job Overview:

To support the procurement function by sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials required for PVC & Timber window & door manufacturing, ensuring cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery to meet production demands. The role also includes responsibility for monitoring and measuring on-hand stock to support efficient production planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and purchase materials including glass, frames, hardware, and consumables
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
  • Monitor, measure, and manage on-hand stock levels to ensure optimal inventory control
  • Analyse stock usage trends and forecast demand in line with production requirements
  • Place orders to maintain stock within agreed minimum and maximum levels
  • Process purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records
  • Liaise with production, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Track deliveries and resolve any supply or quality issues
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures

Person Specification

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Good team player with a collaborative approach
  • Strong communication skills, including a professional telephone manner
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

Desirable (but Not Essential)

  • Previous experience in a buying or procurement role
  • Experience within manufacturing or construction sectors
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with stock control systems or ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience in inventory analysis or stock management

Qualifications

No formal qualifications required, though relevant training or certifications in procurement or supply chain are advantageous

Our contracted standard working hours are 40 hours per week, 8.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am – 12noon on a Friday.
