How Green is our uPVC?
Thanks to advances in recycling and design innovation, when used responsibly uPVC is one of the most sustainable construction materials available. In fact, an average European uPVC production plant would need to be operating for 30,000 years to produce the same amount of dioxins generated on one bonfire night.
uPVC (short for unmodified PolyVinyl Chloride) is 100% recyclable and may be recycled 10 times and more without significant loss of integrity and structure. Therefore, assuming a 35-year installation life for uPVC windows which are then removed and recycled; the uPVC from which the original windows would have a useful life of 350 years!
It is widely regarded as a cost-effective, low maintenance, lightweight and strong material which offers excellent insulation resulting in significant cost savings during the lifetime of the product. Our uPVC products are also reinforced with galvanised steel as standard. This not only increases the strength of the product; it also improves its weather resistance. Therefore, further increasing the lifetime of the product.
