
At Norscot, our people are at the heart of everything we do. Today, we’re delighted to introduce Boyd Crombie, who joined the team in March 2026 and plays a key role in supporting customers from first enquiry through to completed order.
A Front‑Line Role at Norscot
Boyd is very much at the sharp end of the customer journey. His role involves taking incoming calls, welcoming walk‑in customers, preparing quotes, processing orders and helping convert enquiries into sales. No two days are the same, and flexibility is essential.
“A big part of my role is supporting the rest of the team however I can,” Boyd explains. “That includes everything from follow‑ups and admin to the day‑to‑day tasks that keep things running smoothly.”
A typical day starts bright and early at 7:45am, checking emails and sales leads, progressing quotations and managing ongoing enquiries as the day unfolds.
Joining Team Norscot
Boyd’s journey to Norscot began with a conversation. After speaking with Linda about work opportunities, he decided to step into a role that was completely new territory.
“It was something I’d never done before,” he says, “but I was ready to give it a go.”
Early Successes and Learning the Ropes
Even in the early weeks, there have already been moments worth celebrating. One in particular stands out.
“Putting my first quote together and getting it back checked with no mistakes was a big moment for me,” Boyd says. “It gave me confidence that I’m on the right track.”
Looking ahead, Boyd is taking things one step at a time.
“It’s still early days,” he adds, “but my aim is to become as competent at the job as Linda is. There’s a lot to learn, and I’m enjoying that.”
A Life Built Around Family
Boyd grew up in Drumchapel, Glasgow, alongside his two sisters and parents. Family has always been central to his life, and that hasn’t changed.
He met his wife at just 15 years old, and together they’ve raised a son and daughter and have now been together for an incredible 41 years.
When asked what he can’t live without, the answer is simple: his wife.
Outside of Work
Away from the office, Boyd keeps busy with a mix of fresh air and travel. He enjoys golf, long walks with his dog, and motorhoming with his wife and their dog — making the most of time spent on the road together.
He’s also a proud pet owner, sharing his home with a German Shepherd, known for loyalty and affection, and Molly, a tortoiseshell cat who may be an “old lady” now but still offers plenty of unconditional love.
A Few Things You Might Not Know
Despite his serious expression, Boyd describes himself as one of the happiest people you’ll meet.
“I don’t smile all the time,” he laughs, “so people think I’m miserable — but that couldn’t be further from the truth.”
When it comes to favourites, The Great Escape tops the film list, Dexter is his go‑to TV series, and as a chef by trade, he cooks a lot of Chinese food — even if Indian cuisine is his personal favourite.
His happiest place? Sitting on the beach beneath the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
