At Norscot, our team is the heart of everything we do — and today we’re excited to introduce you to our talented Marketing Executive, Eleanor. Having been with the company for just over four years, she has brought a fresh perspective to our marketing efforts and the way we present ourselves to both present and future customers.
A Different Career Path
With a background in Arts Marketing, moving into the construction and home improvement industry was a refreshing change. She was drawn to the sector because it is very different from her previous experience
Role and Responsibilities
In her role, she plans, creates, and schedules engaging social media content across all our channels, ensuring we keep our customers informed and inspired. She also manages and updates the website content to keep everything fresh and relevant. Additionally, she is the first point of contact for advertising and sponsorship enquiries and provides support with office administration as needed.
Her day-to-day involves juggling content creation and scheduling social media posts, updating website pages, and handling advertising or sponsorship enquiries by phone and email. Depending on the time of year, she also spends time preparing detailed reports using Google Analytics to monitor and optimise our digital presence.
Proud Achievements
One of her proudest moments at Norscot was being involved in the launch of the company’s first TV advert on STV last year. Having never worked on a project like this before, she is very proud of the final result.
Looking to the Future
She is excited about Norscot’s continued growth and ability to adapt to customer needs. When thinking about the future of construction and home improvement in Scotland, she sees a strong focus on sustainability. Timber frame kit homes are becoming popular for their quick build times and eco-friendly benefits. In windows and doors, modern, energy-efficient designs will play a big role in reaching net-zero goals. She’s excited to be part of an industry moving towards greener, better homes.
Background and Personal Interests
Originally moving to Caithness as a young child, she grew up moving between Lybster and Wick before studying in Aberdeen. After university, she returned to the area and gained experience at Golspie Golf Club and North Lands Glass before joining Norscot.
Outside of work, she leads an active and creative lifestyle, enjoying weekly horse riding lessons at a local riding school and exploring the outdoors with two greyhounds, Billy and Jess. She also enjoys cross-stitching, often attempting to work on multiple projects at once.
Childhood Ambitions
As a child, she dreamed of becoming an archaeologist, inspired by her love of history and the TV show Time Team.
Fun Facts
- Favourite Motto: “Keep smiling” — a simple but powerful phrase from her dad that helps her stay positive, especially when things don’t go to plan.
- Comfort Show: The Gilmore Girls is her go-to for relaxation and comfort.
- For the love of dogs: She shares her life with two retired racing greyhounds who are loyal companions on adventures and at home. Having grown up surrounded by dogs, she has a special affection for greyhounds and their incredible capacity for trust and unconditional love despite tough starts.
