The Norscot Story: 1980s
In 1984, we started trading as general builders, later forming Fairmitre (Highland) to manufacture bespoke timber windows and doors from a shed in Scarfskerry. Norscot Joinery Ltd was born through a Company Rebrand!
By 1987, we moved to a historic site: the former War Radio Station in Bower, now known as Bower Workshops. This location, once a crucial Admiralty Wireless Intercept ‘Y’ Station during WWII and later a GCHQ site, became our new home.
Expanding our horizons, we began manufacturing PVCu windows and doors at Bower Workshop in 1988. The following year, we completed Phase 1 of redeveloping Bower Workshops, adding 4,500 sq ft of factory floor space.
