Julia and Alan Marsh, owners of a croft in Wester Alligin, Ross-shire, sought to diversify their income by constructing a self-contained holiday let. The couple envisioned a design that complemented the stunning landscape of their croft and its breathtaking views. They took the initiative to draft their own design and successfully secured planning permission.
Despite their enthusiasm, they encountered challenges when approaching kit manufacturers, as many declined to quote for their bespoke design and modest 60.5m² floor area.
