Making a Difference Together: Norscot’s Charity of the Year Initiatives for Maggie’s Highlands

In June 2024, Norscot we proudly announced Maggie’s Highlands as our Charity of the Year. This incredible organisation provides essential support to those affected by cancer, offering a lifeline to individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Since the announcement, our team has embraced the opportunity to contribute to this worthwhile cause with enthusiasm; raising just under £1000. Here’s a look back at our year of fundraising initiatives for Maggie’s Highlands and the impact we’ve been working to achieve.

Stepping Up with “Paws for a Cause”

Our first major fundraising initiative was the Paws for a Cause Walking Challenge, a month-long event designed to get us moving while supporting Maggie’s. Teams and individuals logged their steps, shared their progress, and raised vital funds for this meaningful cause. Our team members went the extra mile—literally—combining fitness and fundraising to make a meaningful contribution.

Breaking Free: Iain Sutherland’s Jail or Bail Challenge

Our very own Iain Sutherland took part in Maggie’s Highlands’ Jail or Bail event in November. This unique and creative fundraiser involved participants being “locked up” for charity, with their “bail” raised through donations. Iain’s commitment and enthusiasm brought a wave of support from colleagues, friends, and family, helping him exceed his fundraising target.

Festive Cheer and Community Spirit

The holiday season brought even more opportunities to support Maggie’s Highlands. Our team embraced the spirit of giving with a Christmas Jumper Day, donning festive attire to raise funds and awareness. This was just one of many smaller, informal efforts throughout the year, including office bake sales, where delicious treats helped us contribute to the cause.

Why Maggie’s Highlands Matters

Maggie’s Highlands has been a lifeline for so many in the region, offering free emotional, social, and practical support to individuals and their families affected by cancer. Their work aligns with our values at Norscot, and we’re honoured to be part of their journey in 2024.

Looking Ahead

As 2024 draws to a close, we’re proud of the contributions we’ve made and the moments we’ve shared as a team. But our efforts for Maggie’s Highlands are far from over. We look forward to continuing our partnership and finding new ways to support this vital organisation in the months to come.

We invite you to join us—whether by participating in future events, donating, or simply spreading the word about the incredible work Maggie’s Highlands does. Together, we can make a real difference.
