At Norscot, we’re proud to have a diverse and talented team driving the company’s success.
Keir has been an integral part of Team Norscot for nine years as a Technical Sales specialist. His role involves being the first point of contact for kit enquiries and guiding clients through the entire process, from initial discussions to completion documentation.
Family Legacy
Keir’s connection to the company began at a young age, as part of the original family behind the business. After his father’s passing, Keir recognised a gap in the company and decided to step in.
His typical day includes:
- Handling emails and phone calls
- Addressing walk-in enquiries
- Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient service
Passion for the Job
What Keir finds most rewarding about his work is securing the final kit order. He explains, “This not only marks the culmination of what could be many months or even years of work, but it’s also a huge step for clients on their way to building their dream timber frame kit house.” He takes pride in seeing the growth of both the business and the workforce, which he views as a testament to the company’s success.
The Future is Bright
New client enquiries are always an exciting part of his job. He takes pride in ensuring that every customer leaves with a clear understanding of the services and products Norscot offers. Looking ahead, Keir is optimistic about the company’s future under new ownership, hoping it will continue to grow and adapt to the changing demands of the industry. He sees zero running costs as the future for timber frame kit homes, driven by tightening efficiency standards and rising energy costs.
Roots in the Highlands
Born and raised in Scarfskerry, Keir moved to Thurso at 18 and recently relocated just outside the town, though he misses the peace and safety of the countryside. Outside of work, Keir is passionate about anything with a motor. He enjoys spending time maintaining his home and keeping the family’s vehicles in top condition.
While many know Keir for his technical expertise, few are aware of his dream to one day own a sloth! When it comes to entertainment, he enjoys watching The Grand Tour or falling down the rabbit hole of YouTube videos.
Keir loves animals and shares his home with two cats and two tortoises. He’s on the lookout for another bearded dragon to add to the mix—after all, what’s cooler than having a modern-day dinosaur?
If you ever visit our showroom in Bower, Keir is ready to help you turn your home-building dream into a reality. Stay tuned to meet more members of our team who make Norscot a trusted name in the home improvement and self-build industries.
