We’re looking forward to exhibiting at the Homebuilding & Renovating Show in Glasgow on 9th and 10th May, where members of our timber frame team will be on hand to meet self‑builders across Scotland. Representing us at the show will be Graeme and Aaron, who together bring decades of experience across timber frame design, estimating, architectural services and energy compliance.
The show provides a valuable opportunity to speak directly with people planning or progressing a build, and both our team members look forward to discussing ideas, answering technical questions, and helping visitors understand the key stages involved in a successful self-build.
Whether you’re just beginning your self‑build journey or refining plans already underway, the team will be available throughout the show to share their knowledge and experience.
Q: How can visitors benefit from speaking to us at the show?

Aaron: With over 25 years of experience in timber frame design, energy compliance, and self-build support, I’m able to provide visitors with practical, straightforward guidance tailored to their specific project. Face‑to‑face conversations play a key role in how I work — they help me fully understand what people want and find the most efficient, compliant and cost-effective way to achieve their goals.
For anyone attending the Homebuilding & Renovating Show, our stand is a great place to ask detailed questions about planning layouts, warrant drawings, thermal performance and the overall design process, whether you’re starting from scratch or developing an existing concept.
Graeme: Meeting us in person gives visitors the chance to talk directly with people who work hands‑on with timber frame projects every day. With over 35 years’ experience in timber frame design and estimating, I’m able to explain feasibility, design considerations and costs in a clear, practical way. Events like this are ideal for self-builders looking for accurate guidance early in their project, before key decisions are made.

Q: What makes our products and services stand out at the Homebuilding & Renovating Show?
Aaron: What sets us apart is the combination of in‑house manufacturing and deep technical expertise. My background spans architectural design, energy calculations and kit development, which allows us to support clients with far more than just a product. We can guide homeowners through planning drawings, warrant submissions, thermal compliance and design development, all under one roof.
Because so much of the process is managed in‑house, clients benefit from technical accuracy, consistency and solutions that are tailored specifically to their home.
Graeme: The real strength of what we offer lies in the depth of experience behind every project. With decades spent working in timber frame design and estimating, we carefully assess feasibility and ensure every material choice, structural element and design detail is properly considered. Visitors can feel confident knowing their project is being reviewed by a team that understands both the technical and practical realities of building a home
Q: How does our approach to customer service support self‑builders?
Aaron: For me, strong customer service starts with understanding the client’s vision. I place real value on meeting people in person — whether at the office, on site or at events like the Homebuilding & Renovating Show. Those conversations help turn ideas into efficient, compliant and cost‑effective designs.
No two homes are the same, and I enjoy the challenge of balancing creative design, building standards and thermal performance while still meeting the client’s lifestyle needs. That level of hands‑on involvement and technical support is something we take pride in.
Graeme: Attention to detail is central to our approach. My role focuses on providing accurate estimates, realistic costs and clear explanations so clients fully understand what’s achievable within their budget and timescale. That clarity, combined with our collaborative team approach, ensures customers feel supported and informed throughout their self‑build journey.
A recent self‑build success story

A great example of the flexibility and support we offer can be seen in the home built by Mr and Mrs Bowers in Tain, who used our Braemore kit as the foundation for their self‑build.
Planning a home that would suit their long-term needs, the couple made several thoughtful design adaptations, including enlarging the bedrooms, incorporating a spacious garage, and introducing a full-height feature window to maximise natural light. These changes allowed them to tailor the layout to their lifestyle while still benefiting from the efficiency and practicality of a timber frame home.
Their project demonstrates how self‑builders can start with a standard kit design and adapt it to create a highly personal home — supported throughout by clear guidance, technical input and flexible design options. It’s a strong example of how our timber frame kits can be shaped around real‑world needs, whether building for retirement, family living or future‑proofing a home.
